The Columbus Division of Police is looking for qualified men and women to serve the citizens of Columbus, Ohio. We offer an attractive wage and benefit package that is competitive with private business and other law enforcement agencies.
The testing is a 4-phase examination conducted by the Columbus Civil Service Commission. Applicants who pass the examination will be ranked and placed on an eligibility list. Your chances of being hired are excellent if you successfully complete the selection and background process.
POLICE OFFICER SALARY:
A beginning recruit starts at $50,585.60 ($24.32 hourly) and over 48 months will increase to $77,459.20 ($37.24 hourly).
Health insurance and prescription drug service, vision and dental plan. Paid sick leave, paid holidays. Annual service credit, deferred compensation program, family leave, military leave, and life insurance are among the many fringe benefits available to our officers.
Receive 100% college tuition reimbursement up to your PH.D after 1 year of service.
CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT ALLOWANCE:
Uniforms and equipment are provided. Uniformed officers receive $850 per year for uniform maintenance.

2. Must be at least 20 years old at time of application
3. Must possess a valid driver’s license
4. Must be a U.S. Citizen
