Incident Summary: On 8/30/2010, at approximately 2:22 PM, Mary Rosa and Roberto Arnao became involved in a verbal altercation over beer. Ms. Rosa left the area and returned with her boyfriend, who then became involved in a verbal altercation with Mr. Arnao, during which Ms. Rosa picked up a chunk of concrete and threw it at Mr. Arnao, striking him in the head causing a large laceration. Mr. Arnao was transported to the hospital in stable condition where he was treated and released.

Incident Summary: On August 29, 2010 at approximately 3:20 am, two unknown masked males attempted to commit an armed robbery of the Wal-Mart located at 5900 Britton Parkway. During the robbery, two female employees were assaulted and received minor injuries. The two males eventually fled the store when the robbery was interrupted by another employee. The suspects were last seen entering a light blue Oldsmobile Cutlass.
The suspects were described as:
1) Male black, 5’6” medium build wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.
2) Male black, 5’8” muscular build wearing black ball cap, black blue jeans and a black t-shirt.

Graduation of the Columbus Division of Police 115th Recruit Class
The Columbus Division of Police is proud to announce the graduation of the 115th Recruit Class.
The ceremony will take place at the James G. Jackson Columbus Police Academy on Friday, August 27, 2010, at 10:00 am. The academy is located at 1000 N. Hague Avenue. The class will graduate forty-seven new officers and will increase the number of sworn personnel to approximately 1,879. The class of forty-three men and four women have spent the last 27 weeks learning the core values of the Division of Police, laws of the State of Ohio, ordinances of the City of Columbus, directives and policies of the Division of Police, and various skills and tactics they will use in their patrol assignments. Each graduating officer will complete four multi-week coaching periods where they are mentored by a Field Training Officer. The new officers will serve a probationary period of one year from the date of hire.
The Division of Police welcomes these new officers. Their desire to serve and protect the citizens of Columbus is commendable.

Incident Summary: On August 25, 2010 around 1:47 AM, a black colored 1978 Ford pickup truck was
traveling eastbound on Interstate 270 approaching the Cleveland Av exit. According to witnesses, the truck was traveling at speeds well in excess of the posted 65 MPH speed limit when it struck the attenuator for the concrete barrier that divides eastbound lanes from the Cleveland Av exit lanes. The operator of the truck was pronounced dead at scene. He has not been positively identified at this time.
This is the City’s 33rd traffic crash related fatality of the year.

Incident Summary: On August 25, 2010, at approximately 10:35 p.m. Daniel Roof and Joseph Ausmus went to 1003 Sullivant Ave. to confront Michael Hinkle, because of his actions earlier in the day concerning Megan Wagoner. Ms. Wagoner is Mr. Roof's current girlfriend and Mr. Hinkle's ex-girlfriend. Mr. Roof and Mr. Ausmus went into the backyard of 1003 Sullivant Avenue, Ms. Melinda Michael's residence, to confront Mr. Hinkle. Mr. Hinkle stood inside his back door refusing to exit his home. Mr. Roof and Mr. Ausmus entered the rear door using physical force. Mr. Ausmus instructed Mr. Roof to assault Mr. Hinkle. Mr. Roof assaulted Mr. Hinkle, striking him in the face. Mr. Hinkle was able to retrieve a board to defend himself, and struck Mr. Roof several times to stop his attack. Mr. Roof and Mr. Ausmus were both charged with Aggravated Burglary.

Incident Summary: On August 24, 2010 at approximately 4:45 PM Darion Moore became involved in a verbal altercation with Phillip Francia, Stoney Dailey and Maurice Howard in a parking lot located at Maize Rd. and Morse Rd. Mr. Francia, Mr. Howard and Mr. Dailey jumped into their vehicle and quickly drove away from the lot. Mr. Moore produced a handgun and shot multiple times at Phillip Francia and the other victims listed above. A car chase ensued and ended at the intersection of Reis Ave. and Oakland Park Ave. Mr. Moore shot multiple times at Mr. Francia, Mr. Howard and Mr. Dailey. The vehicle that Mr. Francia, Mr. Howard and Mr. Dailey were driving was struck multiple times but no one in the vehicle was injured. Mr. Moore quickly ran from the area to a nearby apartment. Mr. Moore refused to answer the apartment door for responding officers therefore responding Columbus Police Officers contacted SWAT. SWAT Officers responded and took Mr. Moore into custody a short time later. The investigation continues.

The man then turned, produced a handgun, and shot Mr. Scott once in the torso. The vehicle's driver gathered Mr. Scott back into her vehicle and drove away. She later stopped at the corner of W. Broad St. and Central Ave. to wait on police. Mr. Scott was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The investigation continues. Incident Summary: On 08/24/2010, between 5:30 am, and 5:50 am, three separate armed robberies involving the same suspects were reported to Columbus Police. The first occurred at E. Livingston Ave/S Ohio Ave. Four male black's in a purple mini van robbed an individual of his cell phone and wallet. One of the suspects displayed a handgun. The second robbery occurred in the parking lot of the Marathon Gas Station located atParsons Ave./Whittier St. Two male black's armed with a handgun got out of the purple mini van & demanded the victim's wallets and cell phones. One of the victim's fought back and a third male black got out of the van to help. The victim was ultimately shot once and was treated and released from Grant Hospital. The third incident occurred on Washington Ave., south of Deshler Ave. Two victim's were walking their dog when two male black suspects, both armed with handguns, got out of the purple mini van & demanded their property. As the suspects fled southbound on Washington Ave., a third male black suspect was leaning out of the side door of the van and was pointing a handgun at the victims. There were no other injuries. The suspects were described as 4 male blacks, 18-22 years old, wearing dark clothing, except one had on a white or beige shirt/jacket. One of the suspect's also had braids/dred locks to just blow his ears. The van was described as between 2000 - 2006 Purple Mini Van with tinted windows, possibly a Chrysler. The police involved shooting that occurred on Saturday, August 21, 2010 in the area of Denton
Alley & May Alley, is still under investigation by the Critical Incident Response Team.
The officer involved in the shooting is Officer Frank B. Lemak #2506. Officer Lemak is a
three year veteran and is assigned to 12 Precinct B Company.

Incident Summary: On August 19, 2010, at 2:30 a.m., four males entered a residence located at 1885 W. Mound Street and robbed two victims at gunpoint. The suspects repeatedly beat and threatened both victims while demanding money. The suspects also stole the victims vehicles during the incident. On August 23, 2010, the defendants were arrested driving one of the stolen vehicles after being observed by patrol officers. The suspects were positively identified by the victims and slated. Two additional robbery susepcts are still at large and are described as M/W/18-25 and a M/B/18-25. Thes additional suspects may also use the names "Chris" and "X". Incident Summary: On the above listed date and time 53 year old Robert Trivett of Pataskala, Ohio was
operating his 2007 Honda motorcycle southbound on McNaughten Rd. approaching E. Main St. At the same time 21 year old Jarred Blumenshed of Granville, Ohio was operating a 1998 Honda Civic westbound on E. Main St. approaching McNaughten. The two collided and Mr. Trivett was ejected. He was transported to Grant Medical Center where he was still listed in critical condition as of 4:00pm. An investigation by the Accident Investigation Unit is underway.

Incident Summary: On August 18, 2010, at approximately 10:51 PM, the suspect, Juan McConnell, and his front seat passenger, Eric Watkins, drove by 2172 Middlehurst Drive and fired several rounds into the house, almost striking one of the four occupants inside the home at the time in the head. The vehicle was observed by patrol officers minutes later still in the same area, so the conducted a traffic stop at 2258 Purdue Avenue. Two 9mm handguns and spent shell casings were recovered from inside the car and five occupants were detained and questioned.

Robbery Suspect Shot by Police
A man was shot by Columbus Police after robbing an individual at gun point on the cities near
east side.
Incident Summary: On August 21, 2010 at approximately 9:18 pm, officers working the Community Response Team project were flagged down by a man who said he had been robbed of his bicycle by a man with a gun near Parsons Avenue and Siebert Street. The suspect’s description was aired and responding officers saturated the area looking for the suspect and the bicycle. An individual matching the suspect’s description was confronted near May Alley and Denton Alley when he pointed a gun at
the officers. The suspect sustained a single gunshot wound to his torso and was transported to
Grant Hospital where he was listed in stable condition. Neither officer was injured. The suspect was positively identified by the victim and is charged with one count of aggravated robbery. Additional charges could be filed pending further investigation. The suspect is identified as Dequion Anderson, M/B/20. As in all police involved shootings, the involved officer(s) will receive mandated psychological
support counseling. Officers are also afforded an opportunity to take leave time to assist in recovery from a traumatic experience. This incident will be investigated by the Critical Incident Response Team (made up of specially trained investigators from the Homicide Squad), and the Firearms / Police-Involved Death Review Board. The final investigative package will be forwarded to the Columbus Division of Police, Chain-Of-Command for review.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by CFD Engine #3 at 12:10pm. At this time this incident is being investigated as an accident.

The responding officers circulated the area and found the two suspects in the rear of 2873 Chatsworth Way. The money taken from the store and the handgun were recovered. Incident Summary: On August 20, 2010 at approximately 11:30 p.m., two armed suspects confronted the employees of the Tamarack Market as the business was closing. The suspects ordered the employees back into the business. The six year old son of the employees was also present. The suspects demanded money while inside the store and pointed a shotgun at the head of the six year old boy. The suspects took cash and cell phones from the store. The suspects were last seen running northbound from the location. The suspects were described as: #1) male, black, 5'8" tall, 20-25 years old, dark complexion, possibly wearing a tank top and armed with a shotgun. #2) male, black, 5'7" tall, 20-25 years old, dark complexion, very thin, wearing a white T-shirt and armed with a black pistol.

Incident Summary: On August 20, 2010, approximately 5:00 a.m., Daniel Monnin and four companions
traveled to a quarry behind 1382 Bay Shore Drive where they began diving into the water from a rocky ledge. When Daniel did so he disappeared below the surface and never came up. His friends searched for him for several minutes and then contacted the Columbus police radio room. Police officers as well as personnel from the Columbus Fire Dive Team responded and located Daniel's body in approximately 20 feet of water. He was transported to OSU Main hospital and pronounced dead at 6:56 a.m. This location is on private property and not an approved site for swimming. Additionally, alcohol may have played a role in this incident.

Incident Summary: On August 19, 2010, at approximately 11:50 p.m. Mr. Anthony Harlin was in a verbal
argument with Mr. Anthony Burke and his brother Norman Burke. The argument turned into a physical
altercation, during the physical altercation Mr. Roger Burke retrieved a knife and stabbed Mr. Harlin. Mr.
Harlin at one point took control of the knife only to have it taken away by Mr. Norman Burke, who then stabbed
Mr. Harlin. Mr. Harlin is in a local hospital in critical but stable condition. Both of the Burke brothers have been
charged with Felonious Assault.

Incident Summary: On 07/21/2010 Detective’s responded to Nationwide Children's Hospital on a 4 month old
Female/Hispanic in full cardiac arrest with life threatening injuries. The 4 month old girl with severe Subdural
Hematoma and rib fractures. The child was admitted directly to the PICU unit.
The investigation revealed the victim received the injuries while in the care of the suspect, her father. The
injuries were life threatening, the injuries were so severe medical personnel were not able to determine at first if
the victim would survive the injuries. At this time the victim will not make a full recovery suffering life long
complications. When released from the hospital the victim will be placed in foster care.
The suspect has been arrested on August 16, 2010, for Felonious Assault F2, Endangering Children F3, and
Domestic Violence then transported to the Fairfield County Jail.

Incident Summary: On 8-15-2010, at approximately 12:21pm Tionna McGowan, age 29 of Columbus was
operating her 2004 Lexus n/b on James Rd at Dale Ave. Chee Chee McGowan, age 36 and Kahill Dickerson,
age 12 were riding with her. During the same time, Joshua Tillman, age 20, of Whitehall was operating a 2000
Mercury n/b on James Rd. Joshua Tillman collided with the rear of Mrs. McGowan’s vehicle and then a light
pole.
CFD Medic 21 pronounced Mr. Tillman dead at 10:30pm. Mrs. McGowan and her passengers were treated at
scene by Medic 21. Excessive speed is suspected as a contributing factor in this crash.
This is the 31st traffic related fatality in the City this year. The case remains under investigation by the Accident
Investigation Unit.

Incident Summary: On Sunday, August 15th, 2010 at 7:29pm, a lone masked gunman entered the Marathon
Gas station at 4751 E. Main St. and demanded the money from the register. The clerk complied and placed the
money in a plastic bag for the suspect. As the suspect fled out the front door, a customer realized what was
going on and a brief struggle ensued, causing the suspect to drop the bag and most of the money. The suspect
fled to an awaiting getaway car. A witness observed the suspect get into the car and wrote down the license
plate and passed it on to the responding officers. Officers with the Reynoldsburg Police Department observed
the car at Brice Rd. and Livingston Ave. where they detained the driver, James Dennis. The suspect was not in
the passenger compartment of the car. The officers did not enter the car and secured it to preserve any
evidence. When Columbus Police robbery squad detectives arrived on scene and began searching the car for
evidence, Craishon Russell was found hiding in the trunk of the car with the handgun used in the robbery. Both
were charged with Aggravated Robbery and transported to the Franklin County Jail.

Hospital on the report that a vehicle arrived at the Emergency Room with two male victims inside suffering
from gunshot wounds. The 3rd victim, who was not injured exited the vehicle just prior to arriving at the
hospital. The juvenile victim stated that they were shot somewhere in the alley east of S. 22nd St. and north of
Sycamore St. Officers were dispatched to the area and the scene was located in the rear of 790 S. 22nd St.
At the hospital the victim Darrell Farr was pronounced dead at 7:41pm, and the juvenile victim was admitted in

male, later identified as Tyson Marable, standing in his apartment. Mr. Marable pointed a handgun at Mr.
Smith and fired at him. Mr. Marable turned and exited the apartment. A short time later, responding Columbus
Police Officers took Mr. Marable into custody. Mr. Smith positively identified Mr. Marable as the individual
who had entered his apartment and shot at him. Mr. Smith was not injured during this incident.

Incident Summary: On Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at approximately 6:06 P.M. Mr. Chandler arrived at the
apartment of Ms. Haywood and began pounding on the door, demanding to be let in the apartment. Ms.
Haywood refused to let Mr. Chandler in so he broke out a window and crawled inside the apartment. Once
inside Mr. Chandler began assaulting Ms. Haywood by punching her multiple times around the head area. Mr.
Chandler then fled the area on a bicycle.

Incident Summary: On 8/10/2010 at approximately 7:10 AM Patrol units and Fire Medics were dispatched to
826 Seymour Ave on the report of a male on the front porch non responsive. Upon their arrival it was
determined that the victim had suffered gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:23
AM by CFD Medic 15. The investigation revealed that neighbors had heard gunshots in the area at around 5:30
AM. These gunshots were not reported to the Police and it was not until the victim was discovered at the
location that the police were notified. The investigation into this homicide is continuing, any persons having

Incident Summary: On August 9, 2010, at approximatley 11:19PM, suspects entered 125 S. Princeton Ave.
through an unlocked rear door. Once inside, the suspects quickly moved to the front of the residence, and
threated the victims at gunpoint. The family dog jumped up and moved toward the suspects, at which time one
of the suspects shot and mortally wounded the dog. The suspects then fled back out the rear of the residence.
One of the suspects was described as a male black, 5"10", 175 lbs, having a full beard, and distinct yellowing of

Incident Summary: On August 5,2010 at approximately 9:30 AM the suspects forced entry into a residence, located at 2913 Gerbert Ave. The two younger victims and a 3 month old baby were in the home and confronted by the suspects. One suspect held them at gunpoint as the other ransacked the residence. A neighbor had seen the suspect enter the residence and called the elder victim, who immediately returned to his home. Upon the arrival of the elder victim he confronted the suspects as they were attempting to flee. A struggled ensued and the elder victim was able to gain control of the weapon and fired it, striking Ostrander. Powers fled. Powers was later identified and arrested later that night. Incident Summary: On the above date and time, the suspect entered the Churchs Chicken located at 4375
Refugee Road. The suspect pointed a handgun at the employee and demanded the money from the register.
Upon receiving the money the suspect fled out of the store to a vehicle waiting immediately behind the
business. A witness obtained the tag number of the vehicle and police located the vehicle unoccupied a short
time later. The vehicle was found to have been stolen. The description of the suspect is the following:
Male, Black, 25-35, 6'00"-6'3", 150-200, goatee, pock marks on the face, last seen wearing a black baseball hat,
black sunglasses with a blue tint, black sleeveless shirt, blue jeans.
The vehicle was driven by a male black.
There was no video of the incident.

Incident Summary: On August 5, 2010 at 4:10 a.m. three unknown male blacks forcible entered the residence
located at 5818 Northmeadows Blvd. #D and attacked the female victim who was asleep in bed. The suspects
threatened her at gunpoint then drug her to the floor and beat her repeatedly with the handgun.The suspects
demanded money and property from the victim and ransacked the entire apartment. The suspects fled on foot
after taking several items and are believed to live somewhere in that immediate area.
The suspects are described as:1. M/B/19-23, 5'10", 160, lite complexion, afro wearing a dark ball cap, white
tank top, orange and blue bandana over his face, and a handgun. 2. M/B/19-23, 5'8", 150-160, dark complexion,
dred locks, wearing a dark t-shirt, bandana over his face. 3. M/unknown, dark t-shirt and jeans.

Incident Summary: At approximately 8:41pm on August 3, 2010, the victim, Scott Darthard was in the driver
seat of his white Ford Explorer stopped in front of 2138 Ontario. His passenger known only as "Jay" stepped
out of the vehicle as a skinny male black with large dreadlock style braids approached the passenger side
window, displayed a gun and indicated that he intended to rob Mr. Darthard. Mr. Darthard proceeded to drive
away at a high rate of speed as the suspect fired several rounds at the fleeing vehicle. Mr. Darthard was struck
in the left arm and continued to drive until he found a police cruiser at 18th and Cleveland Ave. Mr. Darthard
was transported to the hospital in serious condition and later upgraded to stable condition.

Incident Summary: On August 2, 2010 at approximately 8:00 p.m. John Carols was in his van parked behind
the Papa John's located at 3691 Sullivant Ave. Courdney Sims and Coleman Henderson got in the van with him
and after a short conversation Mr. Henderson produced a handgun and demanded money. Mr. Carols tried to
flee from the van but was shot before he could get away. Mr. Carols is recovering in an area hospital in stable
condition.
Warrants have been filed for one count of Aggravated Robbery for both Courdney Sims and Coleman

Incident Summary: During the early morning hours of July 24th, 2010 the victim, OSU Student, was walking
home after visiting friends at approximatley 2:00 AM. He was ambushed by unknown suspect(s), severely
beaten about the head and robbed of his wallet. The victim was unconscience for an unknown amount of time.
Investigation of this incident turned up security camera video from Northern Lights showing three females
using the victims credit card to go on a shopping spree. Columbus Division of Police Robbery Squad is
requesting assistance from the public to identify the females captured on security camera. Anyone with

get out of the front door of the residence and ran down the street yelling for help. The suspects took property

Incident Summary: The suspect approached the drive through window as if to order food. The restaurant
employee opened the window to tell the suspect that the restaurant does not serve anyone that isn’t in a vehicle.
When the employee opened the window, the suspect grabbed the window, forced his upper body through the
window, grabbed the employee, brandished a handgun, and began to demand money. The suspect for unknown
reasons released his grip on the employee before getting any money and fled the area on foot in unknown

The suspect is described as follows: M/W 20’s 5’8” 160 lbs brown hair and well groomed bread.

Incident Summary: On July 29, 2010 at 333 am, the three victims were driving home in the area of Frebis and Studer when they discovered that one of them had misplaced their cellular phone. They pulled over to the curb and began to search the car. Two male blacks walked up to their car and one of the suspects brandished a handgun. The two male blacks demanded the victims’ property, took their property, and ordered them to drive off. As the victims drove off they observed the two suspects get into a Silver Ford Mustang. The victims flagged down police and relayed the information. 11 precinct officers found the suspects’ car in the area of Greenlawn and South High. The offices followed the vehicle to Sullivant and Columbia and conducted a traffic stop. The victims’ property was in plain view in the suspect vehicle. The victims positively identified the suspects; the suspects were interviewed, and charged with aggravated robbery.

Incident Summary: On listed date and time the victim was delivering the Columbus Dispatch in the area of
4460 Cliff Ridge Drive when four, unknown male suspects ran up on him and ordered him to empty his
pockets. The victim complied and the suspects beat him about the face with their fists. The victim described all
of the suspects as male, black, early 20's with bandana's hiding their faces. The victim said one of the suspects
had a handgun.
The suspects fled in an older vehicle, possibly a Toyota Corolla or a Nissan Maxima, green in color.

Incident Summary: On July 27, 2010 at approximately 3:25pm a light colored sedan with three occupants
pulled up to a group of males standing outside of 871 Miller Ave. Reportedly and argument took place and
shots were fired as the vehicle fled southbound on Miller Ave. Don Glenn, one of the males standing in front of
871 Miller Ave. was shot in the arm. Stefanie Dixson was walking home from the store and was shot in the leg
by a stray bullet fired during the altercation. Both parties were transported to the hospital in stable condition.

entered the UDF convenient store located at 3535 Clime Rd. and forced two business employees behind the
counter and to open the cash drawers. Upon receiving an undetermined amount of cash and some cigarettes the
two suspects fled westbound from the business on foot. The two suspects were described as:
1) Light skinned male black or male white, 22-25 years old, 5’11, 200-220 lbs., dark hair, mustache and goatee
and wearing a hooded sweat shirt and blue jeans.
2) Male black, 22-25 years old, 5’3”-5-5” thin build wearing hooded sweatshirt, black mask and a black skull
cap.

Incident Summary: On Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 4:52AM Patrol Officers and CFD Fire Marshall were closing
down the "Lollipop Club North" at 1078 E. 161. While closing this Club the officers heard several shots fired at
the rear of 6121 Zumstein Drive. Officers ran to this location and found the victim laying in the parking lot with
gunshot wounds to his upper body. Victim was pronounced at 5:05AM by CFD Medic.
At this time the investigation revealed that the victim was committing an Agg. Robbery of a person that was
sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot. During this Agg. Robbery the victim was shot by the victim of the Agg.
Robbery. NOTE: The identity of the victim of the Agg. Robbery will not be released at this time. The Homicide
investigation will presented to the Franklin County Grand Jury for their review. Anyone with information in

Incident Summary: On July 24, 2010, Damien Roquemore entered the BP station located at 925 Rome-
Hilliard Rd. and approached the sales counter to make a purchase. While at the counter Roquemore displayed
what appeared to be a small pistol contained within a leather holster. Roquemore advised the clerk, “This is a
stick up.” Upon receiving an undermined amount of cash Roquemore fled the area on foot.
Dispatched Columbus Patrol Officers responded to the robbery and Roquemore was soon apprehended in the
immediate area without incident. In Roquemore’s possession was a small knife that resembled a pistol in a
leather holster and items from the store.
Damien Roquemore was charged and transported to the Franklin County Jail for Aggravated Robbery.

The suspect was described as:
Male white, 28-32 years old, 5’10”, 170lbs. short dark hair, mustache and stubble, wearing a tan button shirt

single shot to the arm during confrontation. Saban was transported to Grant Hospital in critical condition

Guilford Ave. when he was approached by Marcus Canada and two other males. Mr. Canada tackled Mr. Stepp
to the ground and began punching and kicking Mr. Stepp. The other two males joined Mr. Canada in assaulting
Mr. Stepp. After the assault was over, Mr. Canada and the other males left the area. Mr. Stepp was transported

Incident Summary: On 7-23-10 at approx. 9:48 PM Christopher McDonald was driving his vehicle
southbound Demorest Rd. A green SUV pulled up next to Mr. McDonald's vehicle and one of the individuals
inside the SUV pointed a handgun and shot multiple times at Mr. McDonald. No one was injured however
approximately 15 minutes later a green SUV along with a second unidentified vehicle drove into the common
area of the apartments located at 3700 Briggs Rd and shot at a group of individuals sitting in front of 3700
Briggs Rd. One individual was struck and one apartment was shot into. The individual who had been shot was
transported to the hospital in stable condition. A short time later, Columbus Police Officers responded to 265 S.
Eureka on a shooting. Several indivuals in a green SUV had driven to 265 S. Eureka to fight with a group of
individuals related to the shooting which had occurred on Demorest Rd. earlier. When the green SUV pulled up
unidentified individuals shot into the green SUV. Several individuals were struck by the gunshots and were
taken to nearby hospitals in stable condition. The green SUV was located and processed by responding
detectives. No arrests have been made and the investigation is still ongoing.

Incident Summary: Mark Mullins pulled into the parking lot of the Bob Evans located at 3800 S. High St. He was approached by Randy Mack who robbed and then shot Mr. Mullins in the abdomen. Mr. Mullins ran into the restaurant for assistance. At that time Souvanh Sisomphone drove off in Mr. Mullins vehicle. Mr. Mack fled the scene in a second vehicle and picked Mr. Sisomphone up at the Wal Mart located across the street. Messrs. Mack and Sisomphone then led officers on a pursuit which resulted in a S.W.A.T. standoff at 3248 Hoover Rd. in Grove City. The two men were apprehended several hours later by S.W.A.T. personnel. Both suspects were charged and slated at the Franklin County Jail. Mr. Mullins remains in critical but stable condition at Grant Medical Center.

Incident Summary: On 7-17-10 at approx. 9:15 PM Natasha Wellman was sitting and talking with friends in
front of an apartment located in the Amberly Square Apartment Complex. Ms. Wellman observed a blue SUV
drive past the complex and Ms. Wellman heard a gunshot. Ms. Wellman ran to where several children were
playing and as she started to get the children out of the area, Ms. Wellman was shot in the stomach. Police
officers responded and Ms. Wellman was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Incident Summary: On 7/17/10 at approximately 3:30 PM, the known suspect, Kameron Ingguls, came to the
victim's residence and entered the residence through the unlocked rear door. Mr. Ingguls and two unknown
males grabbed the victim and dragged him out the back door of his residence. Once outside, Mr. Ingguls
punched and kicked the victim in his face, head and torso causing bruising and swelling. The victim's father
accompanied police to Mr. Ingguls residence and pointed him out to police, who took Mr. Ingguls into custody
without incident.

the suspect is at this time unknown. It is also unknown if this is gang related or what the circumstances were

preliminary investigation. The Franklin County Coroner's office conducted an autopsy on the body of Ms.
Justice and now has determined that Ms. Justice had suffered blunt trauma to the head and has ruled her death a
homicide.

Ave. in regards to a possible fight. When the officers arrived at 768 Rose Ave.there was a very large crowd of
people. As the officers exited their cruisers there were several gunshot fired by unknown people in this crowd.
Once the officers made their way into the crowd they found the victim. The victim sustained a gunshot wound
to the head and was pronunced by CFD Medic#13. The exact motive for this homicide is unknown at this time.
At this time the investigation revealed that Brandon Chukes has been arrested for the Murder of Mr. Whitehead.

handgun and shot the victim. The victim had to be lifeflighted from Mount Carmel East in critical condition to

The police involved shooting that occurred on Sunday, July 4, 2010 at 2820 Morse Road is still under investigation by the Critical Incident Response Team. The officers involved in the shooting are Officer Daniel Harper #1317 and Officer George White #2263. Officer Harper is a twenty-two year veteran and is assigned to 10 Precinct A Company. Officer White is a five year veteran and is assigned to 18 Precinct B Company.

Incident Summary: On 7-5-2010, Mr. Dan Denney, age 71, of Columbus was traveling n/b on S. High St. in
his 2010 Toyota Camry. Mr. Denney was approaching Rumsey Rd. During this same time, Brittany Anderson,
age 19, of Columbus was traveling s/b on S. High St. Ms. Anderson was driving a 1999 Ford Expedition. For
unknown reasons, Ms. Anderson lost control of her vehicle, crossed into the n/b lanes and struck Mr. Denney’s
vehicle.
Mr. Denney was transported to Grant Hospital by CFD Medic # 22. Mr. Denney was unable to survive the
injuries sustained in the crash. Dr. Santenello pronounced Mr. Denney dead at 3:41am.
This crash remains under investigation.
This is the City's 24th traffic fatality this year.

Incident Summary: On Saturday, July 3, 2010 around 2:55 AM, Mr. Samuel Porteous IV of Columbus was
operating his '95 Suzuki motorcycle on the Interstate 270 eastbound to Interstate 71 southbound ramp, on the
northside of Columbus. For reasons unknown, Mr. Porteous lost control of his motorcyle and struck the
guardrail. He was pronounced dead at scene at 3:10 AM by CFD Medics.
It is unknown at this time whether alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.
This is the City's 23rd traffic crash related fatality of the year.

Incident Summary: On 7-01-10 at 5:48 pm Dalton Ludwig, of Pickerington, was stopped on the west side of
southbound I-270 south of Rt. 33 in a 2007 Toyota Corolla. Daniel Jacobs, of Reynoldsburg, was operating a
2008 Kia Sorento southbound on I-270 south of Rt. 33. For reasons still under investigation, Mr. Jacobs ran off
the west side of the roadway and struck the Toyota Mr. Ludwig was operating. Mr. Ludwig was transported to
Grant Hospital by Life Flight in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at
9:17 pm by Dr Paul.
Alcohol was not a factor in this crash.
This was the city's 22nd Fatal crash this year.
