Speed Limit Change and Increased Enforcement on I-70

Motorists will see an increased police presence and speed enforcement on Interstate 70 between State Route 33 and Alum Creek Drive. The speed limit has been reduced from 65 MPH (miles per hour) to 55 MPH. West bound motorists will see the 55 MPH zone begin in the area of State Route 33 and Alum Creek. East bound motorists will see the 55 MPH zone extend to the area of State Route 33.

The speed limit change is due to the high number of accidents which have occurred in the curve at the Alum Creek Drive and Livingston Avenue interchanges. Drivers can expect strict enforcement by officers until motorists become acclimated to the speed change.
