Deputy Chief Stephen Gammill

Deputy Chief Steve Gammill is a 27-year veteran of the Columbus Division of Police. He is currently assigned to the Patrol West Subdivision. Deputy Chief Gammill worked in Patrol for 22 years and served as a Field Training Officer and Honor Guard member.

 

Deputy Chief Gammill holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Organizational Leadership and a Masters of Business Administration from Franklin University. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Franklin University in the Leadership Program. He is a graduate of the 171st session of the FBI National Academy, the Police Executive Leadership College, and the Certified Law Enforcement Executive programs sponsored by the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police.

 

Deputy Chief Gammill has been the Incident Commander on numerous occasions for Red, White and Boom, OSU-Michigan, KKK rallies, and the Division’s response to the September 11th terrorist attacks. Two weeks after the attacks, he traveled to New York City to assist the Port Authority Police with their Emergency Operations Center.

 

Deputy Chief Gammill lives with his wife and children.
